Ella & Martin

Martin Luther King Jr. keeps a profile in our house.

Two Cute Kids

Leif and Ella turn on the charm. We don't believe they'll sit this close when Leif gets more mobile, so we'll abuse it for the time being.

The Easter Bunny is a Jack Rabbit...at least in Arizona

Living in the desert provides that Easter-egg-hunting is a bit challenging. We had a laugh as we went to a friend's house for an egg hunt on the Sat. before Easter. There were at least 50 people there, and as we were getting into age appropriate lines for the different trails made, we just loved the warning that we got: Make sure that the kids watch out for cactus, rattlesnakes, and and that they don't step in a gopher of snake hole and twist their ankles. Only in AZ would you get such a warning before finding your eggs. it was great though and Ella had a blast. Leif had to stay inside with Mommy and enjoyed rolling around before the mess of children came back. Ella savored her candy and Leif just stared on with hopes of sharing (not going to happen yet). We hope you all enjoyed your Easter.

Living on the edge...of the country.

Hey all -- here's an update on what Josh and I have been up to these last few years that we have dropped off the face of the planet. We are still living in Arizona. We live in Benson, AZ; which they call the gateway to The Old West. Basically, that means if you want to get to famous ol' Tombstone, you have to drive thru our town to get there (the most direct route that is). We love the time that we have had here and have made many friends and surrogate family members.

Since we have been here...our daughter Ella has grown into toddler hood and shown us that she is a pro at the 2 year-old act. We are either laughing or pulling our hair out -- what can you do? As of September 15 of 2007, we had an addition to the family. Our son Leif came in and stole our hearts along with Ella. He is our charmer. Ella adores him every other day, and even tries to help change his diapers (which isn't too helpful to come into the room to find a naked boy and see that the sprinkler made a little mess). However, life is exciting each day. Ella is finding her voice more and more, loves to dress up, have tea parties, make a mess, and do the hokey poky. Leif loves to laugh, be held and cuddled, and he can't get enough of daddy (unless he's hungry). Leif is already trying to crawl, and has it down except for moving the knees...he'll get it soon enough...maybe too soon.

Also, right before Leif was born, Josh was called and hired by DHS - He's a fed. security agent protecting our borders. I'm not using the full name of his work so that our blog won't be shown on searches. It's just for our protection against scary people who don't like people who protect our country. Anyway, he got called into the Academy 2 weeks before Leif's Birth. I was way sad but happy for him. However, I got induced on a weekend so that Josh could come home and be their to greet his son's arrival. Kudos to Dr. Decker for helping out with the weekend part. Josh was in the academy for 4 months. It was hard not having him there, Ella was very sad to not have daddy. My mom came and helped a ton (kudos for her). We survived and Josh graduated Dec. 27. He's now a full blown agent working overtime with the rest. He loves his career and looks hot in his green uniform (he is so not going to approve of this blog).

To make life even more exciting, I just had knee surgery 1 week ago. Sometime in my life, I fractured the end of my femur -- and just recently did the bone chip off and jam up my knee. The great Dr. Woodbury removed 3 pieces of bone, the largest being the size of a nickel. Recovery has been going great -- I have been up and around and back to work. Ella gets mad because she's restricted from jumping on me and Leif is great at clawing my stiches (mommy lets out great howl everytime).

Life is good. It's going by too fast. All we can do is throw our hands up and enjoy the ride (while working hard at the same time). Love you all. Ciao.

Joining the Bloggers

We know we have been missed and that your lives couldn't exist anymore without a blog from us. Josh and Sarah have been offline for about 2.5 years. Can one exist without the constant presence of the Internet in the home? Yes! It is doable... is it reccomended? NO! Having to arrange: checking email, bank accounts, FYIs, Research, etc. at the library (when being allotted only 30 minutes a day) is not the most desirable situation. Also when adding a toddler, who will not stay still for 2 seconds, makes being connected to the world wide web pretty much unattainable. So we are proud to announce that we are back and that we will try to be consistant at staying in touch and updating the blog (however, 2.5 years of non-internet homelife creates a whole new lifestyle that is hard to redirect). We hope to find long lost friends and keep family updated on our lives (really, they just want to hear about the kids and see their updated photos).

Glad to be back!
